Why a lighthouse?

I have been fielding a lot of questions about the Find Your Calm bracelet, which is always welcome and helps me a lot. It gives me a chance to explain the thinking and meaning behind the charms, and my connection to mental health. It's also made it clear that for some there is a bit of confusion.
Firstly, the bracelet comes with all six charms. A common misunderstanding is that you pick the charms for the bracelet however the bracelet comes with all six charms. The reason is that each charm is a daily self care reminder. When you order your bracelet I include a printed explanation of each charm with the bracelet so you can learn and/or refresh your memory, and it's particularly helpful for gifts!
I also get asked about the choice of charms. Some have a very clear connection to their meaning like the star, for sleep, and the @, for connection, however some like the lighthouse, are more symbolic.
I love the symbolism of the lighthouse and what it represents. To me it says I am strong and don't let your worries overwhelm you.
Living life is a daily reminder of our strength, and a reminder we have survived 100% of life's challenges up until now - and will handle what comes next. I'm not saying it will be easy, or that you won't have bad days (and weeks). But whatever it is you will get through it, and the charms are a reminder of how.

Bell - a reminder to get physical, whether that’s walking, yoga, swimming ...
Shovel - don’t let negativity take over, you are more than the terrible stories you tell yourself about yourself, so whack bad thoughts on the head.
@ - stay connected, talk it out with family or friends (or go online for support there’s lots of different websites) and look out for others, call, text or send a meme to someone who is struggling.
Star - make sure you get enough sleep, adults need 7-9 hours and teens need 8-10 hours.
Blue Cup - what is nicer than a lovely cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate … and it’s a great opportunity to take some time-out, practice mindfulness sit, focus your attention on one thing, breathe.
Lighthouse - imagine you are a lighthouse, be strong, don’t let your worries overwhelm you. Remember you have survived 100% of life’s challenges up until now!
