Walk your worries away
I'm a huge fan of walking, whether a casual stroll or a more brisk pace, there is a great sense of calm that comes from putting one foot in front of the other.
Recently I read 'Swallow the Air' a novel by Tara June Winch (https://www.tarajunewinch.com/), assigned as part of a book club run by the amazing Bec Sparrow (committed to helping teen and tween girls everywhere, check her out at https://rebeccasparrow.com/about/). Tara June Winch is an Aboriginal Australian writer. Her writing is evocative and almost poetic (not usually my cup of tea), however I loved this book.
One paragraph I highlighted when reading is the following:
"... when we worry, when something is pulling us down, we should take a walk ... a long walk. Rhythm tangles behind you, scurries up ahead, and somewhere in between, something makes sense. One foot is your heart and one foot is your mind. Together, they can make your worries easy, clearer."
These words really resonated with me. So next time that you feel your worries are mounting up or niggling at you, try walking your worries away.
Take care. Liza
