Creating a ‘zen’ workspace

Working from home is likely to be part of our lives into the future. Making sure you have a workspace that provides peace, calm and allows you to focus on what you need to get done is important.

I have been working at home for over four years, so Covid did not bring about a great work change for me, other than less work trips. I did have to move my office to accommodate hubby and kids being at home.

Recently I started to dread working at my desk and just felt so uninspired. So I did some research and learned that making a few changes to revamp my space could help lift my work mood.

What did I do?

1. Decluttered. I filed, tossed and organised. Keeping only current work on my desk.
2. Purchased a ladder shelf from Kmart and added things that ‘sparked joy’.
3. Added live plants, there’s something about them that just reduces stress and brings calm.
4. Added some motivation using a letter board. Why am I doing this? Because I believe in what I do and in #bravesmartstrong
5. Located a lovely comfy chair on Facebook Marketplace for $50, which is my new reading nook. It’s sooo comfy.

I also made sure I had hand cream and lip balm, and added a candle, coffee scented!

I’m certainly feeling a lot less ‘blah’ and it’s a joy to sit and work in my lovely budget, revamped workspace.

If you’re feeling the same perhaps some inspiration for a weekend project?
